So, I was listening to the All That Remains cover of Garth Brooks’ The Thunder Rolls (which is pretty good), and got curious about the backup vocals.  After some poking around, I discovered it was Diamante Azzura. Poking around a little more, I figured it was because they had the same producer. But then I started finding some interesting links. The article from Alternative Press I linked above talks about “her debut  album”.  But this isn’t her debut anything. She was nominated Artist of the Year by Tween Pop Radio in 2010. She’s actually had several incarnations in the music industry.

I can respect that she’s been doing this since she was 14, and I can also be annoyed by the dissembling publicity. I would actually be more appreciative if she owned her past work, it would make her seem less manufactured. I get that publicity and marketing is so much chimera anyway, I mean, I used to do publicity. There’s just something weird to me about “This is me,” “No, wait, this is me,” “Pay no attention to those other things, THIS is me, and I’ve never done this before!”

She’s got some pipes on her, though.
